Producteev!

It's really easy to set up MailMe to work with Producteev. Just enter "task@producteev.com" in the Adress field on the settings screen. Done!

Your MailMe messages will then appear in your default Producteev workspace.

New version of MailMe Voice with iOS 4 support

About a week ago a new version of MailMe Vocie hit the iTunes App store. As usual some bugs where squashed. This update is our first version supporting iOS 4. The old versions also worked on iOS 4 but this release take advantage of some of the new futures of iOS 4. Now you can on a iPhone that supports background task, exit MailMe Voice before the mail is sent. MailMe Voice will send your mail in the background. Currently only iPhone 3GS and above support background tasks in iOS 4.

How I integrate MailMe Text with Things

I'm a Things user and I want my MailMe Text e-mails to show up as tasks in Things. So, this is how I've made my every day a bit more efficient. :-)

1. Download the Things AppleScript and save it in a folder on your harddrive.

2. Go into the settings in MailMe Text and set a mail subject prefix. Make it unique so you can make a mail rule for MailMe Text.

Apple mail rules for MailMe and Things integration3. Apply a rule in Apple Mail by going into the rules menu in preferences. Add a new rule. Set the filter to "Subject" and "Begins with" and add your MailMe prefix. Then select what action to perform. In this case the action is to "Run AppleScript". Select the AppleScript that you downloaded before. Finish by adding the delete mail action. This is important so that you don't import the same mail more than once.

Now when you start Apple Mail on your computer it will automatically import your MailMe Text todos to your Things inbox.

The usual bugfixes are also included.

As we want to differentiate the free (ad supported) version and the full (ad free) versions further, we will reduce the recording time in the free version to 10 seconds. Still plenty for most messages, but for those of you who want more the recording time in the full version has been increased from 2 minutes to 5. :-)

MailMe Voice 1.02 (minor bugfix release)

MailMe Voice 1.02 was just released at the iTunes AppStore. Now you can use MailMe Vocie with mail servers that requires you to use blank username and password. Some phone companies with special configured mail servers requires this. MailMe Voice and MailMe Text now share the same mail (smtp) configurations setting. So if you have for example MailMe Text, and It's configure right and then buy MailMe Voice it should just work. We no longer use a subject prefix, instead messages from MailMe are simply sent from "MailMe".

The change means that the messages look better in your inbox, as we utilize the "From" column which we did not do before. However, if you use inbox rules, and had them set up to react on the "MailMe:" prefix, these rules need to be updated.
